Africa Heart Foundation celebrates NHS 60th anniversary.

AHF trustees celebrated the 60th anniversary of the NHS at the Unison Pulse festival held at Hillsborough Park, Sheffield on 5th July 2008.  AHF maintained a stall during the fun-filled day and were visited by Sue Highton, President of Unison and Andrew Cash, Chief Executive of the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust amongst several other prominent members. 

The primary objective was to raise the profile of AHF by distributing information leaflets of its objectives and the upcoming mission to the public. 

Special thanks go to, Olivia Godia, Grace Kimani, Benson Mbure and Mr R S Jutley (with family) who manned the stall despite sunny intervals interspered with thunderstorms.

Sheffield Steelers Ice Hockey team nominate Africa Heart Foundation as their "International Charity for 2008/2009" season.

Bob Phillips, owner of Sheffield Steelers in collaboration with Unison has taken on AHF as its ‘International Charity 2008/9', in a meeting with Unison representative John Campbell and Bob Phillips on 26 th June 2008. AHF is grateful to the team and management and remain confident that this will raise their profile amongst the local community. Bob Phillips has pledged several thousand tickets with sales proceedings going straight to AHF in addition to signed merchandise for the annual dinner/dance auction. AHF will also be allowed to raise money during key games in the season.
